Massage is a wonderful way of relaxing physically and emotionally. Most of us have experienced the pleasure of a gentle foot rub or have the memory of our head being gently stroked as a child. Just thinking of this can evoke an inner sigh.
Massage not only eases sore muscles and releases the build-up of emotional tension, it can also be a wonderful method of maintaining physical and emotional wellbeing.
Experiencing massage on a regular basis assists the circulatory and lymphatic systems to perform their jobs effectively. Feeding the tissues with a healthy blood flow and cleansing the body of toxins. On an emotional level the healing power of touch allows us to feel nurtured and looked after, helping us to let go of our worries and relax.
The use of essential oils adds another layer of benefits to the experience. All essential oils have both a physical and an emotional effect. During a consultation I will choose a blend of oils that best suits your needs in the moment. It may be that the anti-inflammatory effects of Chamomile are called for or possibly the emotionally balancing Lavender, whatever the need there will be an aromatic essence waiting to share its gifts.
Of course, the use of essential oils is entirely up to the client. I will always provide a relaxing and nurturing massage. The addition of oils is something we can discuss and is lovely option for those who choose to work with them.
